David Zahavi, nee Gold   (1958-65)

I left school directly after the last A level exam to start a short volunteer enlistment in the Israeli Army which seems to have lasted 35 years.  During 1965 - 1966 I served as a paratrooper and subsequently transferred to the artillery, reaching the rank of Lt Col. (reserves).

I still keep myself active with a staff appointment.  Spent three years in Leeds reading electronic engineering and have worked for Motorola for the last 21 years.  At present I manage an advanced development group active in the field of fourth generation cellular development.  I married in 1978 and we have three daughters, Ayela, Ronit and Galit.  The eldest has completed her military service as a sports instructor and is now a student at Beer Sheva University. The middle daughter has just started her military service also as a sports instructor and the third is active in club swimming and preparing for her matriculation.

My wife Melanie and myself amuse ourselves with foreign travel, bridge and driving the children to sporting events.  We live by the Mediterranean Sea in Netanya.

N.B. The family name is Zahavi - The Hebrew translation of Gold.
