Graham Webb (1960-67) I was at the school between 1960 and 1967. After A-levels (Phys, Chem and Pure Maths), I went on to Hull University to do Chemistry and then worked for a number of years in the chemical industry, first in Wembley and then North Acton. In 1972 I married and moved to Dunstable in Bedfordshire, where I have lived ever since. Late in 1978 I left the chemical industry and moved into computer controlled scientific instrumentation, a move which had in any case been taking place gradually over the years. In 1985 I joined a startup company specialising in computer systems for automated warehouses, which we have grown into a market leader in the UK and have recently opened up offices in the US. Two years ago we moved to a purpose built office on Cranfield University Technology Park. Along the way I acquired three kids, two girls and a boy. The eldest is now 24 and married, whilst the youngest is 17 and off to Uni this autumn. We also have two lovely grandchildren. Becoming a grandfather was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I can thoroughly recommend it. |
